From Our Lady of Guadalupe
to Juan Diego ...
and to YOU.

"Here and let it penetrate into your heart, my dearest and littlest son...
Let nothing discourage you; nothing depress you,
let nothing alter your heart or your countenance.
Do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain.
Am I not here, our Mother?
Are you not under by shadow and protection?
Am I not your fountain of life?
Are you not in the folds of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms?
Is there anything else you need?"

"Know for certain that I am the perfect and perpetual Virgin Mary, Mother of the True God ... Here I will show and offer all my love, my compassion, my help and my protection to the people. I am your merciful Mother, the Mother of all those who love me, of those who cry to me, of those who have confidence in me."
We always crown Our Lady of Guadalupe's Pilgrim Image with roses at least once or twice a year at the Phoenix Women's Camp.
Consecration to
Jesus Christ, The Incarnate Wisdom,
Through the Blessed Virgin Mary

O Immaculate Mary,
I, _____________, a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in thy hands the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.

In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose thee this day for my Mother and Mistress. I deliver and consecrate to thee, as thy slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to thee the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to thy good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity.

God of power and mercy,
you blessed the Americas at Tepeyac with the presence of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe.
May her prayers help all men and women to accept each other as brothers and sisters.
Through your justice present in our hearts may your peace reign in the world.  O Lady of Guadalupe,  pray for the Church in America and walk with us in this third millennium of faith.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen.                                           Pope John Paul II

Prayer for Peace by Pope John Paul ll

O God, Creator of the universe, who extends your paternal concern over every creature and guides the events of history to goals of salvations, we acknowledge your fatherly love when you break the resistance of mankind and, in a world torn by strife and discord, you make us ready for reconciliation. Renew for us the wonders of your MERCY; send forth your Spirit that He may work in the intimacy of hearts, that enemies may begins to dialogue, that adversaries may shake hands and peoples may encounter one another in harmony. May all commit themselves to the sincere search for true peace which will extinguish all arguments, for charity which overcomes hatred, for pardon which disarms revenge.
Prayers to Our Lady of Guadalupe

From the prayers with the traveling Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe
and collections from other sources.

The beautiful prayer
of Pope John Paul II
to the Virgin of
Guadalupe was
composed on the
occasion of the Holy
Father’s momentous
visit to Mexico in
late January of
1979.  During this
visit more than
twenty million people greeted the Pope as he traveled to various places in that country, most notable among them, the shrine of Guadalupe.

The miraculous Image of the Blessed Virgin appeared on the tilma or cape of Juan Diego, a humble Indian and devout Catholic, as a sign to his bishop that the Blessed Virgin Mary had in fact appeared to Juan Diego.  This astounding event took place almost 450 years ago (December 12, 1531), yet the image of Our Lady on the coarsely woven Indian cape is marvelously preserved.

As a direct result of the Blessed Virgin’s appearances to Juan Diego and the miraculous Image which she left as proof of her visits, eight million of Mexico’s Indian people were converted to Catholicism within seven years of her appearances.  Over the years, scores of miracles have been attributed to the intercession of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Pope Benedict XIV confirmed the Virgin of Guadalupe as Patroness of Mexico, and on October 12, 1945, Pope Pius XII pronounced Our Lady of Guadalupe, Empress of All the Americas

POPE JOHN PAUL II’S PRAYER TO THE
VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE

O  Immaculate Virgin, Mother of the true God and Mother of the Church!  You, who from this place reveal your clemency and your pity to all those who ask for your protection: hear the prayer that we address to you with filial trust, and present it to your Son Jesus, our sole Redeemer.

Mother of Mercy, Teacher of hidden and silent sacrifice--to you, who come to meet us sinners--we dedicate on this day all our being and all our love.  We also dedicate to you our life, our work, our joys, our infirmities and our sorrows.

Grant peace, justice and prosperity to our people: for we entrust to your care all that we have and all that we are, Our Lady and Mother.

We wish to be entirely yours and to walk with you along the away of complete faithfulness to Jesus Christ In his Church; hold us always with your loving hand.

Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, we pray to you for all the Bishops, that they may lead the faithful along paths of intense Christian life, of love and humble service of God and souls.

Contemplate this Immense harvest and intercede with the Lord that He may instill a hunger for holiness in the whole People of God and grant abundant vocations of priests and religious, strong in the faith and zealous dispensers of God’s mysteries.

Grant to our homes the grace of loving and respecting life in its beginnings, with the same love with which you conceived in your womb the life of the Son of God.  Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Love, protect our families, so that they may always be united, and bless the upbringing  of our children.

Our hope, look upon us with compassion, teach us to go continually to Jesus and, if we fall, help us to rise again, to return to Him, by means of the confession of our faults and sins in the Sacrament of Penance, which gives peace to the soul.  We beg you to grant us a great love for all the holy Sacraments , which are, as it were, the signs that your Son left us on earth.

Thus, Most Holy Mother, with the peace of God in our conscience, with our hearts free from evil and hatred, we will be able to bring to all true joy and true peace, which come to us from your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Who with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, lives and reigns for ever and ever.  Amen.
